To me, Sun June sounds like slow mornings not knowing where the day will take you.

I spent the better part of the last couple of years listening to and becoming a fan of Sun June. I’d walk my dog, Stevie, after work, and listen to Somewhere as the sun began to set. “Colors” appears at the end of the album, so I’ve naturally associated this album with my time with Stevie. On my walks with her, I see the way in which the sun paints the clouds and the sky transforms in a matter of seconds. Colors is about noticing these fleeting moments, soaking in the setting sun, and learning to be present in all these little seconds of peace and solitude.
